Czyszczenie tkanin i skór

The most important principles of removing stains from fabric - some general information

  • In case of stains, act immediately. Remove solid residue with a spoon, and the excess liquid with paper towels.
  • Before you remove dirt, if possible, place several layers of absorbent paper towel under the fabric in place of stain or remove the dirty cloth (e.g. upholstery) to be able to clean the stain on the inside. This will protect the fabric from being damaged during the more powerful wiping.
  • To avoid the shells on the dried stains, using a sponge soak the fabric with warm water around the spot at a distance of 2-3 cm before using the cleaning preparation.
  • To remove tha stain do not use a cloth but a sponge to protect fabric from being damanaged when wiping more strongly.
  • Apply a small amount of preparation on a cotton ball or sponge. Lightly rub the stain with preparation and leave for a few minutes to become operational. Remove dirt with a paper towel by pressing it into the cleaned area. Repeat until the dirt leaves no trace on the towel.
  • Rinse the cleaned area with a sponge soaked in water and then gently wipe with a paper towel. Please repeat the process several times to avoid the stain envelope.
  • When the stain is romoved and the place is cleary brighter than surroundings, clean the rest of the fabric on th item (e.g. the entire seat cushion).

Fabric Maintenance

Woven fabric are produced from natural fibers such as cotton, linen or wool, from modified natural fibers such as viscose or rayon and synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon and microfiber. Different types of fibers have different physical and chemical properties, which not only determine their durability and resistance to stains but also the type of required maintenance.

Regardless of the composition of the fabric, some simple rules make possible to preserve its property without any alteration and prevent fabric from irreversible damages.

  • Removal of dust. All fabrics subjected to friction, such as seats and carpets need to comply with the treatment once a week to remove dust. This helps to prevent the penetration of microparticles into the fabric and, consequently, fiber fracture due to mechanical action associated with wear and tear. If dust is not being removed regularly than fabric is being worn out much quicker. To remove dust from the piece of equipment with upholstery fabric use vacuum cleaner having a soft brush or a simple tip for cleaning carpets.
  • Cleaning. All fabric products subjected to normal wear and tear should be cleaned regularly so that the dirt does not damage their appearance. Otherwise, dirt and sweat penetrate into fibers, causing fading and weakening of the material. At least once every six months you should clean all areas of the fabric that come into contact with the human body so that the fibers are not attacked by acids found in sweat. No stains on fabric does not mean that sweat did not penetrate into the fibers. In any case, to remove the dirt attached to the fibers is not sufficient to remove dust from the surface but you need a deepcleansing treatment.

Leather care

Each leather is a natural material therefore responds to the impact of the external environment. Leather is subjected to different treatment processes in tanneries that take away its ability to regenerate. Therefore, during the preparation there are being applied substances that make the leatrher soft and flexible. Over time, these substances evaporate leaving the leather without protection against changes in temperature, humidity, and above all against the sweat. The consequence of the impact of these factors is the drying of the leather, leading to its hardening and cracking. In order to keep leather soft and flexible as long as possible it should be periodically and regularly maintained. Such treatments should be applied from 2 to 4 times a year. For that you should use specially designed care and maintenance products. Note also that dirt and stains resulting of intense use should be removed as quick as possible.

Leather used in the manufacture of LFM S.A.

In our production we use only the smooth leather madras type. This is one color dyed leather, protected against external factors and from abrasion by varnish impregnation. We use madras leather only with a matt surface finish. Madras leather is currently the largest group of leather used in furniture industry. Its finish protects the surfacefrom the effects of daily usage, and also allows you to take advantage of many natural features of the leather.
